Clay with Pam (of Pam's House blog) Feb 27, Raleigh NC
at the 2010 HRC Carolinas fundraiser/gala

Fountaindawg's been having herself some fun with Clay's "Hair"
(thank you!)

OK, this is not a photo, but I feel sure this is the one page that members WILL look at.

This post from the OFC  had permission to travel from Clay.

New postPosted: Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:59 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Clay is answering questions again....and he said the answers for his Special (ed note: the concert/taping for PBS on March 12) can travel.

I mentioned SECTIONS A though E.. not rows.. sections.
Those sections are close to the stage and will at times be on camera. THose sections are close enough to not need binoculars, and having folks hold binoculars at such a close range while on camera looks a bit odd. I don't want anyone to be able to perpetuate inaccurate stereotypes because they see folks holding binoculars on camera.
If we tour, you can bring binoculars, signs, cameras (as long as you ''black tape'' the flash), and whatever... but for this TV special... nah!

2. Do you know if there will be a large screen on the stage? You know, the ones that telecast the concert? That may put an end to the binocular discussion (maybe). To my knowledge there will be no video screens. I'm not 100% apprised of all of the things that the TV folks will be using. This show sort of has two separate aspects... the live show and the TV part. I know all about the live part and am in control of how that looks, but there are other folks who are in charge of the TV parts. Simon and Mary are sort of overseeing it all... but I don't have all of that information for you now. I wouldn't count on video screens this time.
Let's sell this show out and make it a big enough hit for PBS, then sell enough albums that we can have a huge budget if we get to do another one. Look at how big budgetted Bocelli's PBS specials are!!! ;-)

3. Clay, do you mind if the questions and your answers are posted on other Clay boards as a lot of the OFC members frequent other boards on a more regular basis?

Yeah.. for these purposes, it's fine. Thanks for asking.

4. Do you want us to allow "red reports" to be posted on the OFC after the taping or are we to keep everything off the board?AFTER the show is over on Friday night, I welcome discussion about it. But I do hope that no one .. on ANY board ... will encourage folks to break the no cell phone rule by posting red reports during the show. Let's wait til after the show has ended and folks have left. Cool?

5. The assumption from your comments is that no cell phones are to be turned on or used in the venue at all during the taping, be it intermission or whatever. Can you please confirm this so as there will be no possible misunderstanding?
No CELL PHONES!
Aucuns téléphones portables
Ningunos teléfonos móviles
Nenhuns telefones móveis
Keine Handys
Geen mobiele telefoons
Отсутствие мобильных телефонов
沒有移動電話

Really folks? ;-)

6. As this is a special event and not a tour, will there be any merchandise for sale other than possibly a program?
Damn.. a program!?!?
That would have been a good idea.

No.. No merchandise.

7. Are you aware that the Progress Center has your "On My Way Here" album as the picture on the site for your appearance?

Yeah... we're working on it

8. A member has asked a question that may apply to more than one person so I'm going to put it in here.
She purchased her solo ticket in good faith in the hopes that she will have recovered enough from a leg problem to be able to attend. If her health does not permit her to go, she would like to know if she can gift it to a friend of hers.

Uh.... I can't get into the habit of answering individual questions. But.. for now.. I would recommend asking TicketMonster ;-)

This is the CTV anthem for the Olympics, sung by Nikki, a jazz singer from Montreal.
This video was aired for the first time on the Superbowl telecast. The song is now #1 on iTunes Canada!
Nikki is signed with Decca records and already has one album out.

Then and Now..........black and white wallpaper by Fountaindawg (many thanks!)

Fountaindawg's collage of the best photos from Golfing For Inclusion. (aka GFI)

NB:  the bottle of wine is being auctioned off (we all know that Clay does not drink) to raise money for Clay's foundation, the  National Inclusion Project.

Thanks for the wallpaper, Fountaindawg!

Latest photo from GFI on Monday Feb 1:

Thanks to mblovesclayfor sharing!

February 1,
First two photos from GFI.

It's raining in FL and they were trying to decide what to do.
Ultimately most decided to play anyway

Thanks to Clayskater for the photos
She apologizes for the poor quality, but Clay was backlit and she was taking the
pix with her cellphone.
Hair report: short, natural colour!

Hot off the press...Mirasol Country Club, tonight

Clay sings to entertain the diners.
Twitterer said he sang a few songs from the 50s and sounded great.

Jan 30, 2010:

This picture, grabbed by someone else (unknown) from the online NYT,
will be published in the hardcopy Sunday edition of the NYT tomorrow, Jan 31.

It shows Reed and Clay at a Broadway performance of a show called Fela!.
At no time did the paper identify anyone in the photo.

Seven years!

(Happy Anniversary to Clay and to the Clay Nation!)

 2003 to 2010
"You've come a long way, baby!"

As always, thanks to Fountaindawg for the anniversary  wallpaper.

From our pal Fountaindawg (big thanks!)

Fountaindawg made this gorgeous wallpaper.
She has pointed out that this coming year marks the 8th year of the Claynation. Wow! Where has the time gone?
This wallpaper certainly reminds us of how far Clay has come and how far we have come with him--and with each other.

...and here is Fountaindawg's annual summary of Clay's year....Moments in Time, 2009  (many thanks for this graphic!)

One last Today's Photo for 2009....this is a Somalia photo that just surfaced.
It was used to illustrate Clay's essay on the

Huffington Post. Very nice photo.

Merry Christmas to the ClayNation, from Fountaindawg (and Clay, of course)

This is for anyone who did not catch the final episode of The Sing Off.
The fantastic Bobby McFerrin stole the show with this amazing number.
Never forget the power of the pure unadulterated human voice:

New graphic that Fountaindawg put together for another board.....Thank you!

Thanks to Suereu for this wonderful montage of Clay singing DSIAFCD.....

Dec. 6/09
Clay and Sam, in Germany, a couple of days ago.

Sam is said to be Reed's friend from Wicked.
Could Clay be recording in Germany? Seems likely.
(Decca, and Deutsche Grammophone add up to recording with a favoured orchestra...maybe...)

Happy 31st Birthday, Clay!

Our good friend Fountaindawg has created a special wallpaper for your special day.

This has nothing to do with Clay but it is very entertaining!
What's not to like about Muppets?

Clay sings Unchained Melody at David Foster and Friends concert on Nov. 6.

Inspired by Clay's purchase of new sunglasses (see below)
Fountaindawg was off and running and produced this collage for a new wallpaper.
She "decided" that his 2 new pairs of sunglasses are a clue to the theme of the next CD.....
It completely cracked me up!

Well, look who showed up in San Francisco, buying new shades!
Photo was posted by the staff (seen in photo) of the store, sfoptics.

Link:
http://sfoptics.com/2009/11/06/clay-aiken-goes-undercover-in-san-francisco/

and of course, the photo has already been cropped (but not by me) for your viewing pleasure.

Great shades, Clay (not to mention the excellent hair!)

Prompted by a request (not from me) Fountaindawg has given us a
"walk down memory lane." Behold the changing look of CHA during
AI2.Thanks, Dawgie. Verra nice work; pretty wallpaper!

Seven (count 'em, 7!) years ago.......

"Then and Now"....... courtesy of Fountaindawg.

Permaswooned has posted this beauty.
She posted about how difficult it was to get good photos because of the lighting in the room.

Many thanks to Permaswooned for sharing.

Toni7babe posted a series of photos from the Gala.
I liked this one the best.
Thanks, Toni, for sharing your photos.

Photos from the auction at the Champions for Change Gala, Oct 17/09

Clay hugs the bear before it's auctioned off.

Fugly jacket 1
~ He put it on to prove he could still get into it
~

Fugly jacket 2
~ he said that there isn't much left in his closet to auction off ~

~ and then auctioned off the surprise item of the night: a day long tour of Raleigh (including lunch), narrated by Clay,
driving his own car, winner of the auction as Clay's guest......for one person only.
It went for a HUGE price.

~ Thanks to Toni7babe for the timely photos!

Gala Night:
Clay receives the "presentation cheque" from Christie Cookies.
Nice work, Claynation!

Clay was photographed while out at a theatre production.

Gala Clay, 2008
Big thanks to Permaswooned for sharing her photo.

Labour Day:
A fan tweeted this photo .... appears to be in Montreal (hey, he's only 5 hours away from me!)

Of course the above photo just demanded that it be enlarged and cropped.....

and of course (again) Fountaindawg had to put her own spin on it.....
(thanks for the fun!)

Hello, Superman!

Thanks for this treat, Fountaindawg.
~ lovely wallpaper is always appreciated ~

Clay with the head of A&R at Decca, David Novik, Aug 27, in NYC.

It's getting exciting, is it not? Can't wait to see what comes next.

If you want to see the original upload at Twitter, go to this address, and be sure to click on "full size" when
you get there.

....and a comparison from Fountaindawg (thank you, once again!)

Co -founders of the National Inclusion Project, Clay Aiken and Diane Bubel.
~ Sincere thanks to Fountaindawg for the crisp enlargement of this great new photo.~

Here's another fun wallpaper from Fountaindawg (Thanks once again!)
It's a virtual mantel of virtual JBT pix. Love it.

Clay sort of let us know this week that there would be news in 'a week or so' (right when I will be away on vacation, of course.)
The time frame -- would this be  "soon" in Clay language? -- got Fountaindawg working creatively....
....and here is her 'take' on the problem. Thanks for the wallpaper, F'Dawgie!

Thanks to Fountaindawg for this new wallpaper.

Thanks to Fountaindawg for this new wallpaper! This report on the Atlanta dinner
was written by the auction winner and was used with permission by F'Dawgie.
The wallpaper was created for the clayaikenkids.com website, as are most of
F'Dawgie's wallpapers.
Interesting to find out that the photo we had (see below) was indeed taken at the "auction dinner,"
and that the bf of the auction winner was also the previously-identified musician (who blogged.)
It all makes sense now!

Another wallpaper from Fountaindawg (thanks!) This one is verra nice, indeed!

Title: "May Events"

From Fountaindawg (thank you!)

"Packing Up Baby"

May 28:
Here's Clay in Atlanta on May 27.

This guy posted the photo on Twitter, and its caption was:
"My girlfriend and I hung out with Clay Aiken last night."
Speculation was that this event was the dinner with Clay that was auctioned off for charity.
The other guy has subsequently been ID'd as a member of a rock band.
 Nice photo!

Fountaindawg (thank you!) has shared some great wallpapers.
Here's the first....and please come back tomorrow for the next one.

This one's called Foster Fabulous.

Spotted in an office building in Beverley Hills, May 13, 2009
Thanks to mee2u2 for sharing this photo with the fandom!

Parker went out on the town with his mom!
Thanks to FountainDawg for this collage.

This is certainly turning into an interesting "drought"!

Fountaindawg, thanks for this collage.

"Mentoring Rosie's Kids" - NYC.
These are screen caps, which explains why they are not hi-res.

Clay takes baby Parker out to lunch with Tyra and her mom at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
(Good job on concealing Parker's face, Clay!)

Two new photos from the Tavern on the Green event on April 21:
Both photos are by lisajluvsclaya ( many thanks for sharing!)
This first one is from the photo session with various people.

Clay was one of the two honorees at this event; in this photo he is making his acceptance speech.

Big night for Clay tonight at The Tavern on the Green in NYC....The Family Equality Council.

These are camera phone photos, emailed out.....a bit fuzzy, but who cares?

The last three came from BigAppleforClay (thank you!)
She tried to get a ticket for the event but it was 100% sold out.

This is the grey jacket with the velvet collar, in case anyone cares.
And no bow tie in sight.

Posted on Twitter (someone with a camera phone was on the ball....)
Diane Sawyer and Clay at the Peninsula Hotel in NYC-- today (April 14.)

And let's not forget that someone else Twittered yesterday that they were witnessing Tyra and Clay having lunch together.
Alas, that Twitterer did not have a camera phone.
Great that Clay is enjoying NYC and his friends. If business is involved, that would be even better!

Need I mention that there is no privacy anywhere anymore?

Screencaps by Gerwhisp from last night's episode of
America's Next Top Model.
Thanks to Gerwhisp for making her screencaps available to everyone.

Special thanks to Tyra for having him as a guest judge. It was fun!

That Paulina is one gorgeous gal. Ric Ocasek is one lucky guy.
You'd never know her elder son is 16 already.
Bet Clay never imagined 10 years ago that he'd be hanging with Paulina.

When Clay cracked up, I cracked up too. This show could turn into a 'guilty pleasure.'

News from late Sunday night:

From CV, Posted by Andee1960

Night at the Tavern, Family Equality Council’s annual New York City event will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Tavern on the Green in New York City. The event brings together LGBT parents, friends and allies to celebrate the progress we have made as a community of loving families towards full equality. In 2009, Night at the Tavern will feature a cocktail reception, a full-course seated dinner, live entertainment, a silent auction and the opportunity to mingle with old friends and meet new ones. At the event they will be honoring Platinum Recording Artist Clay Aiken and Director of Center Kids at the LGBT Center in New York Terry Boggis and will have a special guest performance by Linda Eder."

Thanks as always to Fountaindawg who was  on the top of her game last night.
Watch for original hi-res photos here soon.

Reed's Party --Sunday night --on the night he completed his run in Wicked.

Clay showed up in a BMW dealership in Chapel Hill (date unknown.)  Now this photo is thought to be taken before the recent NYC trip.
No name attached to the photo, so thanks to whoever snapped this photo!
He sure is looking great these days.

Clay at JFK on March 8 ...looking tall, healthy, and relaxed.
..or, as others have said......Yay, he's alive!
Thx to the member of CV who posted these. I have not seen a credit yet.
That Paul Smith luggage is looking great.

Clay blogged a couple of nights ago and encouraged the fans to feel free to spread his message.
Therefore, it's not only OK to share this blog, he wants you to read it.
And this page seemed like the best place to post the blog.

     Hate to burst your bubble

While it may be tough to hear... I have not "friended" any of y'all on Facebook.

Thanks to a few good friends, I've discovered that someone is pretending to be me on there. BIG SHOCKER! And though, I normally ignore such BS, I've learned that this person (who obviously has too much time on their hands) is being inappropriately rude with some fans, and that pisses me off a bit! ;-)

While I do have a Facebook page, I have opted to keep it pretty private and really only use it rarely to keep in touch with my "Spam-Fam", my LA peeps, and a few longtime friends from home. Just wanted to make you aware... if you've "friended" me on Facebook, you've "friended" a wacko and a poser.

If you wanna stay friends with a wacko and a poser, feel free... but I know y'all have much higher standards! ;-)

Feel free to spread the word! :-)

love ya, c

Well, guess who showed up today with a purty graphic for the above:Fountaindawg, of course!

Thanks as always to our dependable contributor, F'Dawgie.

Too funny.

To celebrate the news that Clay and RCA have parted company, Fountaindawg
created this. Many thanks!

(It's great to have something new to post during the drought!)

Celebrating the 6th year anniversary of our fandom!
Thanks once again to Fountaindawg for her creativity and for sharing this with us.

In six years, Clay went from camping out for 48 hours to get an audition for AI2, to having his caricature hung on the wall at Sardi's.
You've come a long way, baby!

Thanks to Fountaindawg for this collage. Clay and  Ruben got together at
a local restaurant after Ruben's performance in Ain't Misbehavin.'

(It's a pleasure to see that their friendship endures.)

Just happened to find this as I traveled around the net.
Photo of Clay arriving at the Matt Lauer Roast.

Closing night of Spamalot....January 11, 2009

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!

(be sure to scroll down to the next photo)

A panorama of the last night in Shubert Alley for Spamalot.

*sniff*
Good times!
We will miss them all:
Tom, Rick, David, and the whole rest of the cast....
and especially Clay as Sir Robin.

Thanks to Fountaindawg for her collage to celebrate the end of Clay's run in Spamalot.
The title of this collage is "Beginnings and Endings."
We are waiting patiently for the events of 2009!

As always, many thanks to Fountaindawg for her year-end collage, Moments in Time.

Three of our young Claynadians (members of our Cluncheon group) went to NYC in mid-December to see Clay and Spamalot.
(Smart girls, they took the train, and thereby got outta town easily in the big snowstorm we had that Friday.)

Thanks to MonicaJuliet for permission to post her photo.
Here's their prized photo with Clay.
Please do not crop or post this photo at the OFC.

Many thanks to dancermom2 and dancerdad for permission to post
his beautiful stage door photos from
Friday,Dec.5.

Screencap from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade:
Great interview. Bad hair.

Thanks to PermaSwooned for this lovely photo that she took at the Gala last month.

Toni7babe posted a photo today that she took on Clay's opening weekend.
Outstanding!
Thanks, Toni, for a great shot.

Thank you, Fountaindawg. This is a beauty.

(I think this is the best photo of Clay I have ever seen.)

Here's a creative new treat from Fountaindawg. Many thanks!

This photo was taken by dancerdad (aka the DH of dancermom)
(Thanks for releasing your excellent photos for the fandom to see)

This was the scene at the stage door last night, May 3...the second last night of
Clay's stint in Spamalot. Those who were present said that it was just wild.
Viewers here who have been to Shubert Alley in the last 4 months will
be amazed at the sight of the crowd stretching right back to Junior's windows.
Yes, Clay came outside to see the crowd and sign a few autographs.
He was verra verra happy.

Here's a little something started by GBB and finished off by Fountaindawg.

Five album covers that show the transition made over the last 5 years.

Stage Door, March 15

Looks like Clay started the wearing o' the green a day or two early!

Thanks to Toni7babe for great photos!

This photo is by Toni7babe, taken at the stage door after the matinee, today, Feb 16th.
Thanks, Toni!  Great shot.

Something timely from Fountaindawg..thanks, Dawgie!

Some gorgeous photos of Clay popped up, and  of course,
Fountaindawg couldn't wait to make wallpaper...
Thanks, Dawgie for this beauty! Woof, woof!

A favourite photo from the CITH tour 2007

Many thanks to Invisible926 for permission to post her photo.

A gift from spotlightlover (from the Pala concert)
